Cookies

This website sets no cookies and uses no analytics or advertising trackers. Nothing is stored on your device and nothing is read from it, so there is nothing here for you to consent to or opt out of.

Lawful bases and data protection rights

Under UK data protection law, we must have a lawful basis for collecting and using your personal information. There is a list of possible lawful bases in the UK GDPR. You can find out more about lawful bases on the ICO's website (opens in a new tab).

Which lawful basis we rely on may affect your data protection rights, which are set out in brief below.

Your right of access
You have the right to ask us for copies of your personal information. You can also ask where we got it from and who we share it with. Some exemptions apply, so you may not receive everything you ask for.
Your right to rectification
You have the right to ask us to correct or delete personal information you think is inaccurate or incomplete.
Your right to erasure
You have the right to ask us to delete your personal information.
Your right to restriction of processing
You have the right to ask us to limit how we use your personal information.
Your right to object to processing
You have the right to object to the processing of your personal data.
Your right to data portability
You have the right to ask us to transfer the personal information you gave us to another organisation, or to you.
Your right to withdraw consent
Where we rely on consent, you have the right to withdraw it at any time. Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link, which does this immediately.

If you make a request, we must respond without undue delay and in any event within one month. To make a data protection rights request, please contact us using the details at the top of this notice.

Our lawful bases

Our lawful basis for collecting or using personal information for service updates or marketing purposes is consent. We have permission from you, given after we provided all the relevant information. All of your data protection rights may apply, except the right to object. You have the right to withdraw your consent at any time.

Our lawful basis for collecting or using personal information for dealing with queries, complaints or claims is legitimate interests. The processing is necessary to respond to enquiries, support requests or feedback about the Brokk waitlist. This allows efficient communication and customer service, ensuring you receive accurate information about the platform. It poses minimal risk, as it involves only basic contact details you willingly provided in order to get in touch. All of your data protection rights may apply, except the right to portability.

Where we get personal information from

Directly from you.

How long we keep information

We keep your email address until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it, whichever happens first. If you unsubscribe, we keep a record of that so we do not email you again. Correspondence about a query or complaint is kept for 12 months after the matter is closed.

Who we share information with

Data processors

Kit (email marketing and automation software, headquartered in Boise, Idaho, USA). Kit hosts and manages our waitlist sign-up forms, stores subscriber email addresses and contact details securely, and manages our email automation infrastructure to send launch updates and confirmation emails on our behalf.

Sharing information outside the UK

Where necessary, we and our data processors transfer personal information outside of the UK. When doing so, we comply with the UK GDPR, making sure appropriate safeguards are in place.

  • Organisation name: Kit (ConvertKit, LLC)
  • Category of recipient: cloud infrastructure and email automation service provider
  • Country the personal information is sent to: United States
  • How the transfer complies with UK data protection law: the sector has been assessed as providing adequate protection, under the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (also known as the UK data bridge)

How to complain

If you have any concerns about our use of your personal information, you can make a data protection complaint to us at privacy@brokk.gg.

If you remain unhappy with how we have used your data after raising a complaint with us, you can also complain to the ICO.
